Lana, grew up on a dairy farm in Naringal, Victoria, surrounded by animals, fruit trees and veggie patches, is the “Rhubarb Lady” of the South-West.
The 100% natural products handmade under the “Lana’s Garden” label, have one central ingredient: Rhubarb.

Lana’s Garden rhubarb condiments are gluten free, vegan and of course delicious! Our products are all natural and contain no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives.

It wasn’t long ago that the, versatile red-stalked vegetable was viewed as old fashioned. But 11 years ago, Lana took an educated punt, that has paid dividends. The road to success has had a few twists and turns, lots of testing, tasting and learning of new skills.

To begin with the rhubarb was grown in the backyard of Lana’s home in Warrnambool, Victoria. The Lana’s Garden products have since become too popular for the backyard patch to cope with the ever-growing demand for those tasty rhubarb condiments. Extra rhubarb is sourced from a local grower.  Lana’s Garden has also moved to a larger property on the outskirts of the City of Warrnambool and expanded their rhubarb patch to a paddock.

Lana’s rhubarb garden started with just two plants that had divided from her Mothers rhubarb plant.  These were divided and many family and friends also shared some of their crowns. A year later, a number of crowns were purchased, and plants were grown from seed as well. They now have over 1000 plants that include several different varieties.

Rhubarb is a great vegetable.  Very little bothers rhubarb, you water it, feed it, harvest it and cook it. Rhubarb has many health benefits, its stalks are a good source of fibre, benefiting your digestive health. It is considered as an anti-inflammatory food that contains antioxidants and vitamin K.  Rhubarb is also a good source of vitamin C (great for a healthy immune system), calcium, potassium and magnesium.

It’s all about the rhubarb, everything that Lana’s Garden produces is based around rhubarb. Currently there are seven products in the Lana’s Garden range. Rhubarb and Raspberry Jam, Rhubarb Relish, Rhubarb Coulis, Rhubarb and Chilli Salsa, a savoury Rhubarb Sauce, Rhubarb Vinegar and a limited seasonal release of Rhubarb and Fig Jam. Lana’s Garden products are proudly handmade in small batches  Because they choose to use raw ingredients and not add any artificial colours, thickeners or preservatives, each batch is individual  as a result colour may vary slightly depending on the season and  the varieties used.

A combination of Lana’s Grandmother’s rhubarb relish recipe, a childhood spent on the farm and hospitality experience have all helped Lana’s Garden prosper into a quality Australian Food Manufacturer.

From humble beginnings Lana has created a thriving small business built around her Grandmothers recipe and home-grown rhubarb which has expanded from a mere concept over a decade ago to producing an average 1200kg of product a month.

Lana set up her business so that she could spend more time with her children. Now the Warrnambool Mothers’ rhubarb coulis, relish, jam and savoury sauces are sold at farmers’ markets, online and at quality food merchants from Adelaide, SA, to Mt Tamborine, QLD.

You can regularly find the tasty Rhubarb Condiments created by Lana’s Garden, as well as other fresh produce and locally made products at The Fresh Market, on the beautiful foreshore area in Warrnambool, Vic.
